Firedetec New 4-Liter Cylinder Protects Smaller Vehicles From Fire
Affordable FireDETEC automatic fire suppression systems are popular with many bus and truck companies. To protect their assets from fire and keep people safe, they install FireDETEC systems directly inside engine compartments, closer to where a fire can start.

These fire protection systems are served by either a 7-liter or 12-liter fire extinguishing cylinder, depending upon the size of the vehicle.

However, an engine fire can put a smaller-sized vehicle, such as a forklift, tractor, harvester or backhoe, out of service. This causes downtime during critical operations, with a major loss of productivity. Often, there is no backup. Plus, repairs are expensive and, in the worst case, a worker could be injured.

With the introduction of a new FireDETEC 4-liter system, it is now practical for operators of smaller vehicles to take advantage of its proven fire protection.

FireDETEC's fast fire detection and immediate fire suppression prevents serious damage to equipment and injuries to operators. It employs a flexible sensor tubing that is installed directly above and around the engine. When in service, the tubing is pressurized with dry nitrogen to 16 bar. If a fire occurs, the heat causes the pressurized tube to burst. This sudden depressurization activates a pressure differential valve that releases a fire extinguishing agent that floods the entire engine compartment.

Since smaller vehicles often operate in rugged conditions, FireDETEC comes with a dual-chamber cylinder that is able to withstand intense vibrations. It allows vertical or horizontal mounting and has superior leak prevention. In addition, FireDETEC can be actuated electronically, pneumatically or by a manual actuator placed in the driver's compartment. It is available with or without a solenoid actuator.

This 4-liter system completes the FireDETEC range, which now includes pre-engineered systems for small, medium and large-sized vehicles. If you'd like to know how you can economically deploy FireDETEC in your essential vehicles, please contact a Rotarex Firetec expert.
