CO2 Fire suppression system

How CO2 Fire Protection Systems Work

Rotarex Firetec CO₂ fire protection systems use carbon dioxide as an extinguishing agent to quickly suppress the fire. CO₂ works by reducing the level of oxygen in the room, which stops the fire from burning. CO₂ is a highly effective gas against class A, B and C fire and offers a viable, long-term, environmentally sustainable technology.

CO₂ extinguishing systems are highly responsive: when a fire breaks out, the fire is extinguished automatically, without the need for human intervention, which reduces reaction time and thus limits fire damage.

Rotarex Firetec offers complete high-pressure carbon dioxide extinguishing systems to protect enclosed spaces such as offshore platforms or industrial production sites (RXCO2 System), as well as local applications such as electrical cabinets or CNC machines (FireDETEC System).

Why choose a CO2 fire extinguishing system?

Systems using carbon dioxide as an extinguishing agent are very versatile and effective on a wide range of flammable and combustible materials. They are very fast-acting, extinguishing the fire in just a few seconds. They leave no residue after a discharge, no cleaning is necessary, and activity can resume immediately.

The carbon dioxide total flooding system is perfectly suited to applications such as offshore platforms or industrial production sites. But also, for rooms containing sensitive equipment, as it is electrically non-conductive, there will be no risk of damage to your devices. The CO2 system can be also used in unoccupied enclosure such as CNC machines, electrical cabinets or fume hoods.

Carbon Dioxide Fire Protection – FAQ
What is a CO2 fire suppression system?

A fire extinguishing system using CO2 extinguishing agent extinguishes a fire very quickly by reducing the oxygen level in the room, preventing the fire from burning out.

Where can I use a CO₂ fire protection system?

CO2 is an effective extinguishing agent in unoccupied environments, for the protection of equipment in local application (CNC machine, Electrical Panel…) as well as for entire rooms (Offshore platform, Servers rooms,..).

Why choose a CO₂ based fire protection system?

CO₂ is an excellent extinguishing agent or many applications such as industrial production, offshore platforms, powder painting and coating rooms, etc. Fire suppression with our total flooding UL listed RXCO2 or our Firedetec local application system is highly effective and fast: in just a few seconds, the fire is extinguished. It offers a perfect combination of value/price ratio and low environmental impact.

How can I find out what's left in my CO2 cylinder?

Thanks to our DIMES system, a digital measurement system for liquid gases, you can know the exact content of your fire suppression system in real time.
