Rotarex Firetec earns UL listing for the pre-engineered FireDETEC® ILP system utilizing FK-5-1-12 fire extinguishing agent
Lintgen, Luxembourg 02 May 2023 – www.rotarexfiretec.com – We are proud to announce that our FireDETEC® indirect low pressure total flooding system added a new source of FK-5-1-12 fire extinguishing agent to our UL listing. This pre-engineered system has successfully met strict requirements to obtain the approval from UL and it is defined for international and domestic US markets according to European and US regulations and directives.
Our system is developed for use in total flooding applications of hazardous equipment, where an electrically non-conductive medium is required and where other fire extinguishing agents leaving residues can cause problems. It is an affordable solution used to protect Class A, B & C hazards that are enclosed. Some typical hazards that can be protected with an ILP System include:
- Laboratory fume/exhaust cabinets
- Machinery spaces
- Small compartments
- Electrical and electronic hazards
- Paint lockers
- Telecommunication areas
- CNC and VMC machining centers
- UPS units
- Transformer cabinets
- Other high value assets
Our FireDETEC® ILP pre-engineered total flooding system utilizing FK-5-1-12 fire extinguishing agent is available in three sizes:
- 3 lb. (1,36 kg)
- 7 lb. (3,18 kg)
- 14 lb. (6,35 kg)
FK-5-1-12 extinguishing agent is ideal for protecting sensitive electronic equipment and valuable irreplaceable assets from fire and potential damaging effects of fire sprinkler systems. This agent is electrically non-conductive, non-corrosive and leaves no residue behind after a system discharge. In addition to being safe for your local environment, FK-5-1-12 has a low impact on the global environment, with no ozone depleting potential and a global warming potential of one – the lowest of any halocarbon fire suppressant.
Therefore, our FireDETEC® ILP system combines an environmentally safe extinguishing agent and specially developed components for a fast discharge. The resulting rapid fire suppression reduces property damage to the lowest possible extent.
